Sasha Calle, who rose to fame as the DCEU’s incarnation of Supergirl in The Flash, has just landed her next big role. Per Deadline, Calle has boarded Mike Flanagan’s The Exorcist, the next installment of the major horror franchise. The film is currently in production with a release slated for March of next year.
Previously, it was reported that the new Exorcist film would also star Scarlett Johansson, Laurence Fishburne, Jacobi Jupe, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Diane Lane. Because plot details are still under lock and key, no information is yet known about the roles Calle and the other cast members will be playing. All that’s been officially revealed at this point is that the movie will be set in the same universe as the original film, though it won’t be a direct sequel to 2023’s The Exorcist: Believer. It remains unknown if any legacy cast members will appear in the new movie.
Because the DCEU folded soon after the release of The Flash, Calle never had the opportunity to reprise her role as Supergirl, though she has nevertheless stayed busy. She recently had a big role in the Netflix thriller The Rip alongside Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. She previously starred in The Young and the Restless before her post-Flash roles in the films In the Summers and On Swift Horses. Ahead of The Exorcist, Calle can also be seen in the upcoming second season of the Apple TV series Sugar.
Flanagan’s The Exorcist is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on March 12, 2027.
