After some casting changes, the new adaptation of Stephen King’s It is back on track. Originally, English actor Will Poulter (The Revenant) was slated to play Pennywise, but he dropped out due to changes in his schedule. Now, Bill Skarsgård has taken over as Pennywise, and production is moving forward.
Bill Skarsgård, brother of True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgård, is known for playing Roman Godfrey in Hemlock Grove and Matthew in Allegiant. We can’t wait to see how the twenty-five-year-old actor plays the iconic killer clown.
Stephen King’s It will be released as two films, with the first set for next year. Director Andy Muschietti, best known for directing 2013’s Mama, will helm the film. Chase Palmer, Cary Fukunaga, and Gary Dauberman wrote the screenplay.
Jack Dylan Grazer, Sophia Lillis, Jaeden Martell, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jeremy Ray Taylor, and Jackson Robert Scott star.
