The official poster for Alien: Covenant has been revealed and, although they kept it simple, it is gorgeously terrifying. Along with the new art, the original August 4, 2017 release date has been moved up to May 19, 2017! Considering many release dates get pushed back and blockbusters typically hit a bit later in the summer, this was a very pleasant surprise.
Alien: Covenant, which is the sequel to 2012’s Prometheus, will more closely tie-in to the existing Alien franchise than the first film.
Synopsis: The crew of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think is an uncharted paradise, but it is actually a dark, dangerous world, whose sole inhabitant is the synthetic David,of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
Ridley Scott is back behind he director’s helm with a story written by John Logan, Michael Green, and Jack Paglen. We will see the return of Prometheus star Michael Fassbender, along with newcomers Danny McBride (Eastbound & Down), Demián Bichir (The Hateful Eight), Katherine Waterston (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) and Billy Crudup (Public Enemies).
We’re definitely excited to see what the sixth installment of the franchise is bringing to the Alien universe!
