Netflix is getting a host of major names lately, landing films such as Okja and the Will Smith-starring Bright. Now, legendary Simpsons creator Matt Groening has created a show for the streaming service, titled Disenchantment.
Coming to Netflix in 2018, the series will be a ten episode adult comedy set in medieval times- a far distance away from the yellow town of Springfield. The story follows a princess called Bean, (Abbi Jacobson of Broad City fame) and her two friends, Elfo the Elf (Nat Faxon) and Luci the Demon (Eric Andre).
While Groening’s previous animated series has mainly male leads, this time, he’s gone with a female protagonist. However, things are staying similar to his style. The studio that was behind the Futurama art style, Rough Draft Studios, is on board to animate. Given this, we can all look forward to the same wit and comedy that comes from the other Groening creations.
