Detroit: Become Human

Detroit: Become Human has a new launch trailer ahead of its release later this week, courtesy of French video game developer Quantic Dream. The game was announced in October 2015 during Paris Games Week and will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive.

Detroit: Become Human features Valorie Curry as Kara, a self-aware android, Bryan Dechart as Connor, a police model android hunting down rogue androids, and Jesse Williams as Markus, an android participating in the android revolution. Back in March, Quantic Dream announced three new cast members- Clancy Brown, Lance Henriksen, and Minka Kelly.

Enter the near-future metropolis of Detroit in 2038 – a city rejuvenated by the introduction of highly advanced androids that exist only to serve mankind. But that’s all about to change…Step into the shoes of three distinct android characters as this brave new world teeters on the brink of chaos. Your decisions dramatically alter how the game’s intense, branching narrative plays out. With thousands of choices and dozens of endings, how will you affect the future of Detroit?

Quantic Dream, who previously made the games Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, has a history of giving us visually stunning and story-rich trailers, and this time is no exception. It shows the three main characters, Kara, Connor, and Markus, as they find their place in the android revolution. It is drastically toned down from the trailer released during Paris Game Week, which showed an abusive dad attack his daughter with a belt until she was no longer moving. It also showed how players’ decisions will impact the game, making the narrative change as you go. Even toned down, the new video packs quite a punch.

You can check out the trailer below and pick up Detroit: Become Human on May 25th.
