May is almost over, and that means the Niagara Falls Comic Con is fast approaching. Back for its sixth consecutive year, Niagara Falls Comic Con will take over the Scotiabank Convention Centre from June 1-3 for three days of shopping, geeking out, and celebrity meeting! The 200,000+ square foot convention floor will be home to exhibitors, vendors, Q&As, workshops, celebrities, and a whole bunch of nerdy goodness. With over 30 celebrities spanning every inch of geekdom, it’d be hard not to find something you like.
The guest list covers everything from comics, sci-fi, horror, and even has a few wrestling superstars making appearances. Here’s some of the names that will be available to meet, get an autograph from, or take a photo with: Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Walking Dead), Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: TNG), Jaleel White (Urkel in Family Matters), Ralph Macchio (Karate Kid, Cobra Kai), Wilford Brimley (The Thing), Michael Biehn (Aliens, The Terminator), wrestling legend Ric Flair, and many more.
Comic book fans won’t want to miss Niagara Falls Comic Con this year, as many industry giants will be in attendance. Fans will have the opportunity to get comics signed by the likes of Jim Steranko, Neal Adams, Michael Golden, Gerhard, Tony Moore, Peter David, Chris Bachalo, and Glenn Fabry among others. If this is your first convention, be sure to note the autograph and photo op fees.
For the fans who are willing to drop the cash, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have dinner with Nick Fury creator, legendary writer, and all around cool dude Jim Steranko. The dinner consists of a three-course meal, three autographs on whatever you want to bring, and a night full of stories from one of comic’s most influential writers.
In addition to celebrity and guest interactions, there are tons more that the con has to offer for all ages. A big part of the convention floor will be taken up by awesome vendors and an Artists’ Alley where you can roam the aisles looking for nerdy art to hang up in your geek den, or cool handmade knick-knacks to put on your shelves. The con will feature an array of attractions, including full-size replicas of iconic cars from film and TV. This year’s selection of vehicles include the Batmobile from 1989’s Batman, Mad Max’s Interceptor from the original trilogy, The Mystery Machine from Scooby-Doo’s many adventures, and the Third Doctor’s trusty ride, Betsy, from Doctor Who.
There will also be an ’80s Retro Arcade Zone on the premises. Play treasured ’80s and ’90s games such as Robocop, Gauntlet, Tempest, Tron, Donkey Kong, Street Fighter II, Punch-Out!!, Star Wars Pod Racer, and many more. For those looking for a more modern gaming experience Ctrl-V, Canada’s first virtual arcade, will be at Niagara Falls Comic Con with playable VR experiences, allowing anyone to try out the future of video gaming.
As you can see, there is truly something for everyone at this show. Again, the convention runs from Friday, June 1st to Sunday, June 3rd. Tickets are still available on their website, but only until May 31st, so don’t sleep on this. Meet your favorite celebrities, spend all your money, and have a great time.
