Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas will soon be celebrated with 5 Star Funko figures. The company has already released Harry Potter 5 Star figures, which include Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Albus Dumbledore, and Rubeus Hagrid. This is a new toy line with a few features that help differentiate them from the Funko Pop! figures, including three points of articulation, a window display box that shows each character in its own unique setting, and accessories.
The Nightmare Before Christmas 5 Star Funko figures will include Jack Skellington, Sally, Oogie Boogie, Lock, Shock, and Barrel. Jack Skellington will come with the spiderweb snowflake he makes in the film and his lovable ghost dog, Zero. Sally will come with the deadly flower nightshade and her black cat. Oogie Boogie, who is known for making a mean snake and spider stew, comes with a purple spider and his iconic dice. Oogie Boogie’s not so loyal and mischievous henchmen, Lock, Shock, and Barrel, have their removable trick-or-treat face masks. Lock comes with his plunger, Shock comes with her bone slingshot, and Barrel is equipped with his lollipop.

This year, on October 29th, The Nightmare Before Christmas will be celebrating its 25th anniversary. Although it was considered a moderate success upon its release, the film has gone on to be one of the most beloved stop-motion animated features ever made. Even so, The Nightmare Before Christmas has never received a film sequel, and probably never will.
In a 2009 interview, The Nightmare Before Christmas director Henry Selick said, “I spoke with Disney years ago about it, and at that point, the most disappointing thing was, they said, ‘Oh, but it’ll have to be in CG.'” There is, however, a sequel in the form of a comic from TOKYOPOP titled The Nightmare Before Christmas: Zero’s Journey. As the title suggests, the comic series follows Jack Skellington’s faithful dog, Zero, who gets lost and must find his way back with the help of Christmas Town.
