Thanks to Shudder, horror fans everywhere finally got to see another horror movie marathon hosted by the legendary Joe Bob Briggs of TNT’s MonsterVision. Titled The Last Drive In, the aim of the program was to give Briggs one last hurrah as he provided his commentary on many of his favorite horror films. As it turns out, however, there’s going to be plenty more where that came from!
When The Last Drive In premiered, so many Shudder users tried to watch that the service went down. Needless to say, the horror crowd still very much loves Joe Bob, and the horror host is just as popular as ever. With fans demanding more, Shudder is moving forward with more programming featuring Briggs, including two holiday specials to air this year, and an all new series to come in 2019!
From Joe Bob Briggs on Facebook: “Joe Bob returns to Shudder with not one, but TWO holiday specials! On November 22, Joe Bob will turn Black Friday into Red Thursday with “The Dinners of Death,” the best deadly-dinner movies in history. Then on December 21, tune in for “A Very Joe Bob Christmas!” (And as an extra gift, Shudder has announced plans to launch a regular series featuring Joe Bob in 2019).”
Shudder was already well worth the price before Briggs was added to the network. However, anyone still not subscribed now has every reason in the world to sign up. The return of Joe Bob Briggs was phenomenal, and with so much more to look forward to, it’s a better time than ever to subscribe. Trust me, it’s worth it.
Of course, details remain to be seen concerning this new series Shudder is referring to. However, we can presume it will be something along the lines of The Last Drive In, but presented in an ongoing format. For anyone who missed it, take a peek at what it was like in the preview clip below.
