We’ll finally be seeing the mysterious Elias Voorhees on the screen, and for Friday the 13th fans something will look very familiar about him!
Most every Friday the 13th fan is aware of the ongoing legal drama concerning the rights to the series. Although fans are eager to see another film in theaters, these troubles ensure we won’t be seeing Jason back on the big screen again anytime soon. Fortunately, the legacy of the masked maniac continues to live on in the form of the various fan films being released from talented filmmakers.
One such release is the upcoming fan film Friday the 13th: Vengeance. According to Facebook, the film is directed by filmmaker Jeremy Brown with a screenplay by Brown, Dustin Montierth, and Stacy Brown. The trio is also producing the film, along with Never Hike Alone director Vincente DiSanti. The movie focuses on Lexington Vanderberg as Angelica Jarvis, Tommy’s daughter, and her attempt to stop Jason Voorhees once and for all.
Synopsis: Jason has rarely faced a foe as resilient as Tommy Jarvis. Though as age begins to take its toll on him, his daughter Angelica will take the reins and face her father’s nemesis in a showdown of Voorhees vs Jarvis. Armed with knowledge never before known about Jason, Angelica Jarvis may prove to be his greatest threat yet.
As announced by the fan film’s official page on Facebook, C.J. Graham, who plays Jason Voorhees in Jason Lives, has been added to the cast as Jason’s father, Elias. Only shown in Friday the 13th comic books, this will be the first time we get to see a live-action portrayal of the character. It’s rather appropriate that he will be played by the man who plays Jason in one of the most revered entries in the franchise.
Currently, the film is in pre-production. To find out more info about Vengeance, head on over to IMDb and Facebook!
