The future of the Friday the 13th film series remains unclear. Although NBA legend LeBron James has stepped in to negotiate his role as a producer for a new film in the franchise, there’s still quite a bit of red tape those involved are going to need to cut through. Victor Miller was recently awarded the U.S. rights to the original movie, but as an appeal to that decision has been filed, chances are it’s going to be a while before Jason Voorhees is back on the big screen.

Enter Deborah Voorhees, who portrayed memorable victim Tina in Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning. These days, Voorhees spends a lot of time behind the camera, now planning her next feature film which will unite many fan favorite stars from the Friday the 13th series. Written and directed by Voorhees, 13 Fanboy will tell the story of a fanboy’s obsession with the franchise going a bit too far, leading to him stalking actresses who’ve appeared in various F13 films. To “improve” their deaths, the fanboy kills his celebrity victims in ways which recreate their on-screen death scenes.

So far, Voorhees has recruited several familiar names for the project, instantly generating a lot of excitement for the franchise’s biggest fans. Confirmed to appear so far are C.J. Graham (Jason Voorhees, F13 Part VI: Jason Lives), Thom Matthews (Tommy Jarvis, F13 Part VI: Jason Lives), Tracie Savage (Debbie, F13 Part III), Ron Sloan (Junior Hubbard, F13 Part V: A New Beginning), Judie Aronson (Samantha, F13 Part IV: The Final Chapter), and Andrew Leighty and Vincente DiSanti (Kyle and Jason, Never Hike Alone) addition to working behind the camera, Voorhees is expected to appear in the film as well.

Promising all practical FX and no CGI, 13 Fanboy is definitely a love letter not only to the Friday the 13th franchise, but for all of its fans as well. The project is now seeking funding via Indiegogo, offering tons of rad perks for those willing to donate. To become a part of this film or find out more information, you can head on over to Indiegogo!
