For forty years now, Jamie Lee Curtis has maintained her status as perhaps the most popular of all scream queens. This goes all the way back to her breakout role in John Carpenter’s 1978 slasher film Halloween as surviving babysitter Laurie Strode. Curtis would return for several of the sequels, and just recently, horror fans saw her reprise the role once again in David Gordon Green’s new film. Yet, for all of the action figures and plush dolls of Michael Myers released over the years, his arch-nemesis Laurie Strode has never had any of her own.
Courtesy of NECA, that is finally changing, with the announcement of Laurie’s first-ever action figure coming just in time for Halloween. The reveal came over on Twitter, where the company released the first sneak peek image at the super-rad figure. Featuring the likeness of Jamie Lee Curtis, this Laurie figure is based on the character as seen in the 2018 film. We have yet to find out additional details, such as which accessories this will be coming with, but there’s enough for us to clearly tell how amazing this looks.

The new Halloween film has not only smashed all kinds of box office records, but it recently surpassed Scream as the highest-grossing slasher movie of all time. The character of Laurie Strode is now more popular than ever, as the new generation beginning with this film has embraced her just as much as the old school fans. Hopefully, we’ll be seeing more figures like this and other merchandise featuring her likeness in the future.
NECA has tons of other awesome action figures in the works, having recently unveiled a new figure for Derek Mears’ Jason from the Friday the 13th remake. As always, the folks over there are frequently putting out amazing products. But this new figure for Laurie is one of their most exciting offerings to come about in a long time.
