4The Innkeepers (2011)
Written and directed by Ti West, The Innkeepers takes place at a once-popular New England hotel that is going out of business called the Yankee Pedlar Inn. (Fun trivia: The Yankee Pedlar Inn is a real hotel in Torrington, Connecticut and some scenes were shot on location.) The spot is rumored to be haunted, and two employees try to find evidence of ghosts before the doors permanently close.
The Innkeepers is the very definition of a slow burn, but it pays off in the end.
