3Pet Sematary
Synopsis: Dr. Louis Creed and his wife, Rachel, relocate from Boston to rural Maine with their two young children. The couple soon discover a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near their new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his neighbor Jud Crandall, setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unspeakable evil with horrific consequences.
2019 is going to be a great year theatrically for Stephen King fans. Of course, there’s a highly-anticipated sequel to 2017’s smash hit It coming out next year, but we’ll get to that later. Something that will be hitting the big screen several months sooner is another film adaptation of one of King’s most popular novels, Pet Sematary. Directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer, the film stars Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, and John Lithgow.
Mary Lambert directed her own version of Pet Sematary back in 1989, and the film remains highly-revered to this day. Going by the trailer, the new film seems to be different enough from the Lambert adaptation to stand on its own, while remaining rather faithful to the source material. We were a little leery when the news of this film was first announced, but now we’re totally on board.
