The official holiday special for The Predator has been released online, courtesy of 20th Century Fox. Back in September, the latest installment in the Predator movie series premiered in theaters. While it didn’t turn out to be the perfect revival movie for the franchise most fans were hoping for, it still makes for an entertaining popcorn movie on its own.
The sequel is now available to purchase on home video, and as part of the marketing for its release, Fox has creating a stop-motion holiday special for The Predator. Originally airing on Comedy Central during BoJack Horseman, the two-minute video has since been uploaded to YouTube for everyone to watch for free. You can take a look at it below!
In the two-minute special, an elf named Sprinkles is preparing Santa’s reindeer for Christmas when a Predator attacks them. Channeling Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer with its stop-motion animation, the Predator begins picking off each of the reindeer in totally brutal ways. This includes decapitating one reindeer while outright skinning another.
It goes without saying that this is not a holiday tale that’s appropriate for small children. The battle culminates at Santa’s house, with several more Predators appearing on the scene. One of them offers an Easter basket to Santa, but there’s something oddly familiar about one of those eggs…
The Predator is now available on Digital, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.
Synopsis: From the outer reaches of space to the backwoods of southern Georgia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before. And only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and an evolutionary biology professor can prevent the end of the human race.
