It’s official – Voorhees Films’ 13 Fanboy has surpassed its Indiegogo campaign goal. Originally shooting for $50,000 for its budget, the movie now has over $57,000 and counting. Because the film has passed its goal, that places it into “InDemand” on Indiegogo, meaning people can still donate to the film and get in on its perks. There’s plenty being offered at various tiers, including getting your name in the credits for just $13.
The movie is produced by Joel Paul Reisig and directed by Deborah Voorhees. It stars many fan favorites from the Friday the 13th movie series playing fictionalized versions of themselves, when they become the targets of a murderous stalker deathly obsessed with the horror franchise. This includes Jennifer Banko, Thom Mathews, Judie Aronson, Tracie Savage, C.J. Graham, and even Kane Hodder. Deborah Voorhees will also be playing herself in the film, reuniting with A New Beginning co-stars Ron Sloan and Carol Locatell.
This is a passion project for Voorhees and the rest of the Friday the 13th stars looking to give something back to the fans. With the next movie that series possibly years away from happening, 13 Fanboy will help feel the void by placing so many familiar faces from the series all in one new slasher movie. Needless to say, it’s a must-see film for every Friday the 13th fan, and we’re certainly excited that the film more than passed its goal!
You can find out more and donate over at Indiegogo. Additionally, you can keep up with regular updates on the movie’s progress by following its official accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
Synopsis: Our horror thriller brings your favorite Friday the 13th actors back to the big screen in an entirely new horror series about a fan, who takes his love for the series too far and targets the real-life women from the franchise to kill them like they were killed in the Friday films or “improve” their deaths.
13 Fanboy melds the slasher-style kills that Friday is famous for and the heart-pounding thrillers such as Hush and Cape Fear. We will be using all practical effects, NO CGI to honor the 80s slashers.
