With every new cast announcement, the upcoming meta-horror film 13 Fanboy just sounds better and better. Just last week, the one and only Corey Feldman was added to the cast, confirmed to play a yet-to-be-revealed character in the film. Making things even more exciting, Dee Wallace was just announced by writer/director Deborah Voorhees to be the newest member of the cast.
Wallace is known to many horror fans for her roles in many different horror movies, including Cujo, Critters, The Howling, The Hills Have Eyes, and Rob Zombie’s Halloween. Wallace also had a prominent role in the legendary film from Stephen Spielberg, E.T. In 13 Fanboy, Wallace will be portraying a fictionalized version of herself, like most of the other members of the cast.
13 Fanboy is a meta-slasher film about a horror-obsessed maniac targeting real life horror stars, with many from the Friday the 13th series. Other confirmed names set to appear are C.J. Graham and Thom Mathews of Jason Lives, Kane Hodder of Friday the 13th Parts VII-X, Judie Aronson of The Final Chapter, Tracie Savage of Part 3, Ron Sloan and Carol Locatell of A New Beginning, and Andrew Leighty and Vincente DiSanti of the Friday the 13th fan film Never Hike Alone. Music from the original film’s Jason actor, Ari Lehman, will also be used in the movie. Of course, Deborah Voorhees herself will be acting in the film in addition to writing and directing.
The Indiegogo campaign for 13 Fanboy is still active, so if you want to get in on the perks being offered, there’s still time to do so.
