Homer Simpson - The Simpsons on FOX
Fox

Disney’s upcoming Disney+ streaming service will be the exclusive streaming home of The SimpsonsThe news was recently confirmed by Disney at an Investor Day event, which included a clip of the animated family welcoming their new “corporate overlords.” While it hasn’t been revealed if The Simpsons Movie will be a part of the package, but Simpsons shorts like the classic ones seen on The Tracey Ullman Show will also be included.

Because Disney+ will be the exclusive SVOD home for the show, that will be enough of a reason for fans of The Simpsons to subscribe. The service will launch at $6.99 a month starting on Nov. 12 of this year. It will feature a library of content from Walt Disney Studios and Walt Disney Television. The service will also reportedly develop new original movies and television shows based on content from Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and 20th Century Fox. The plan is to compete with other popular streaming services like Netflix and Hulu.

While the peak of popularity for the show seems to be many years in the past, The Simpsons is still going strong. Fox recently renewed the series for Seasons 31 and 32, which will keep it on the air until at least 2021. This will also ensure that the show reaches the 700 episode milestone, which is absolutely insane. Even from the former fans no longer watching, respect must be given to the show for managing to stay on the air for three full decades now with no ending in sight.

Disney+ officially launches on Nov. 12, 2019 at $6.99 a month. If you’re a fan of both The Simpsons and Disney movies, it goes without saying that this service is for you. Stay tuned for other announcements on what to expect from the new streaming service.
