Get ready to SNAP into a Slim Jim, because Mattel has announced that they will be immortalizing Macho Man Randy Savage from his notorious ‘Slim Jim’ commercials, in action figure form!
From 1993 until 2000, Randy Savage was the spokesperson for the jerky snack, recording many unforgettable and highly quotable commercials. The advertisements featured Savage in his iconic gear while emanating his signature energy and attitude. He always closed out the spot with “SNAP INTO A SLIM JIM!”.
The action figure features enhanced facial detailing, with an excellent recreation of the gear worn in his commercials. The deluxe articulation figure will be packaged in Slim Jim-inspired packaging.
Lanny Poffo, Macho’s brother, was ecstatic when he learned of the collectible being created, saying: “Randy loved Slim Jim and Slim Jim loved him. He believed in the product and saw this as another way to be accessible to his fans. It’s nice to know that people still remember.”
On June 18th, the Macho Man Randy Savage action figure will hit Entertainment Earth for pre-order with a very reasonable price tag of $29.99. The collectible will also be available at the Mattel booth at an Diego Comic-Con at a discounted price, starting on July 17th.
San Diego Comic-Con International offers four days of geeky fun, running from Thursday, July 18th and ending on Sunday, July 21st at the San Diego Convention Center (111 W. Harbor Dr., San Diego, CA). The event will play host to special guests, panels, art shows a film festival, a children’s film festival, exhibitors, cosplayers, an artist alley, meet and greets with celebrities and artists, a masquerade, and much more.
