San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) 2019 is now under way, and some amazing reveals are already starting to come in. As always, NECA is already impressing its fans with its first toy reveal: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time action figures! The company has officially unveiled the figures on social media, and they truly look marvelous. This follows their previous arcade bame-based TMNT figures, and for gamers who have fond memories of playing Turtles in Time on the Super Nintendo back in the day, this reveal is even more awesome.
The new 7″ figures based on characters from the classic game include Donatello, Leonardo, Slash, and a Foot Soldier. Slash, the “evil mutant turtle,” comes with a sword accessory, while the others come with their signature weapons and hoverboard w/ display stand. They all come with special deco as well that recreates the 16-bit graphics from the original game. This will allow for collectors to pose the figures in a variety of awesome ways when putting these new TMNT figures on display.
The TMNT: Turtles in Time figures will ship in Nov. 2019, and will be available only at Mom & Pop stores and Specialty stores, according to NECA. Note that this is just Series 1 of the set, meaning Mike and Raph could be on the way. In the meantime, we wait to see what other awesome surprises NECA will be unleashing at SDCC. Several years back, Turtles in Time was updated with modern graphics for a re-release dubbed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled. You can take a look at the official trailer for that game below, although for some old school gamers, there’s no beating the original arcade classic.
