This Friday, July 26th, a very special event will be taking place. In the world of the interweb, on a site called Twitch, the God of Heavy Metal Thunder will make his existence known. In collaboration with the fine folks over at RiffTrax, Jon-Mikl Thor will be appearing live in chat to take questions, discuss, and engage fans.
This is unique since this will all take place during a watch party for the RiffTrax version of Rock ‘n’ Roll Nightmare. At 8pm EST (5pm PST), fans can join in on the fun where the film will be shown and maybe there will be a couple of other surprises so it will most certainly be worth your time to reserve a couple hours for the event.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Nightmare is the 1987 horror film from director John Fasano and starring heavy metal legend Jon-Mikl Thor (he also scripted the film). The Tritonz, a rock band quickly on the rise, has taken up residence in an old farmhouse where they have set up a studio to record, work out some new music, and hoping to be inspired. What they weren’t expecting was the evil force lurking within the house, waiting to escape and grow stronger. Their jam session quickly turns into a fight for survival, a battle against good and evil, maybe even with Satan himself. Shot in just seven days and on an extremely tight budget, Rock ‘n’ Roll Nightmare has gone on to become a cult classic and loved by film fan around the world.
Jon-Mikl Thor is a musician, actor, and bodybuilder who has carved out a unique legacy for himself. He started his bodybuilding career as a teenager, winning numerous titles including Mr. Canada and Mr. USA titles. His music career began in the early seventies when he began to develop his persona as THOR. Appearing on shows like Merv Griffin, over the next decade he would refine the concept, release his first album, Keep the Dogs Away, in 1978, and eventually finding himself traveling the world as a much sought after artist.
In 1986, he released the album Only the Strong which is considered to be a metal classic. After a brief retirement, Thor made a major comeback, chronicled in the critically acclaimed documentary I Am Thor which premiered at the 2015 SlamDance Film Festival. Still making records, still touring the world, Jon-Mikl Thor is a personality like no other.
Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett, and Kevin Murphy, the former stars of Mystery Science Theater 3000, are still making movies funny by providing unique and hilarious commentaries for blockbuster feature films, educational shorts, and beloved B-movies. They deliver their content through their website, apps, Amazon, and Twitch. These guys are have been doing this together for decades and haven’t missed a step. Their achievements in riffing and crowd-funding are unrivaled, a testament to just how rabid their devoted fan base truly is, leading them to releasing DVD’s, CD’s, MP3’s, along with various other formats to distribute their content around the world.
