Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin Honored with Funko Pops

Steve Irwin, also known to his fans as The Crocodile Hunter, has been given the Funko Pop! treatment to further honor his incredible legacy. For many years, the Australian zookeeper and conservationist taught TV audiences so much about wildlife on shows like The Crocodile Hunter and Croc Files, even appearing in his own movie in 2002. Sadly, Irwin passed away in 2006 while filming an underwater documentary, but 13 years later, the legendary entertainer is still very much missed.

Now, to help keep the memory of Irwin and his work alive, Funko will soon release new Pop! figures based on his likeness. One depicts Irwin holding a baby alligator, while the Chase-exclusive variant has him holding a tortoise. One look at the awesome Pop! figures will have you instantly hearing Irwin’s unique voice in your head, and you’re going to want to pick up one of these just as much as we do.

Per Funko:

For more than a decade, The Crocodile Hunter captured the popular imagination, sharing his knowledge of and passion for animals with the world. Bring home the beloved conservationist, zookeeper and television personality in Pop! form. A Steve Irwin Pop! Chase with a 1/6 rarity is also available.

Irwin made such a positive impact on the world in so many ways, and he left us far too soon. However, his legacy continues to live on with his children now following in his footsteps, and his son Robert in particular is definitely a chip off the old block. You can keep up with the Irwin family by watching the TV series Crikey! It’s the Irwins on Animal Planet.
