Funko Unveils Amazing ‘Mortal Kombat’ Pop Figures

It has begun! Coming soon, a new set of Mortal Kombat Funko Pop! figures will be released based on the classic arcade versions of several popular characters. Old school gamers and Funko collectors alike should certainly appreciate these, as each of the figures are beyond awesome. Officially revealed by Funko on the company’s official website, four fan favorite characters are included for this wave of Mortal Kombat figures, and it’s rather difficult not to want to buy the whole set.

Included in the line of Mortal Kombat Pop! figures from Funko are Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Raiden. These are not the first Pop! figures to be released based on the popular video game series, although the previous releases were based on the updated versions characters as they appear on modern consoles. Many fans of the franchise still remember the original Mortal Kombat games with a very fond nostalgia, so hopefully we’ll be seeing other key fighters like Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, and Kano added to the line at some point as well.

Mortal Kombat will soon be headed back to the big screen as well, as a film reboot from producer James Wan is currently in the works. Now filming, the movie is set to premiere in theaters on March 5, 2021. This project, along with the popular video game Mortal Kombat 11, is helping to keep the franchise just as popular as it’s ever been. Still, as enjoyable as the modern incarnations of the franchise are, so many fans will forever love the classics.
