If you’ve ever wanted to eat a fast food sandwich that was spirit-approved, Burger King has got you covered. As revealed today by the popular burger joint chain, the company will be selling a special “Ghost Whopper” from Oct. 24 through Oct. 31. While its interior contains all of the yummy ingredients you would expect a Whopper to have, the difference is the special cheddar cheese flavored bun — giving it a lighter “ghostly” appearance.
Unfortunately, the promotion is very regional, as it’s limited to just ten cities across the United States. Officially, the Ghost Whopper will only be sold at Burger King restaurants in these locations: San Francisco and San Diego, California; Phoenix, Arizona; San Antonio, Texas; New Orleans, Louisiana; Memphis, Tennessee; Detroit, Michigan; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Savannah, Georgia; and Summerville, South Carolina.
According to Burger King, the first-ever “spirit taste test” was conducted for the new sandwich. They meet with psychic medium Riz Mirza to have him contact spirits from the underworld, incorporating them into his own body to feed the hungry ghosts the limited-edition burger. As you can see in the promotional video below, the dead love the Ghost Whopper just as much as the living, labeling the themed sandwich as the “first burger to be approved by 11 out of 10 people.”

This is not the only spooky food Burger King has offered to its patrons. Earlier this year, the fast food chain introduced the Upside Down Whopper to commemorate the release of the third season of Stranger Things on Netflix. Sure, it was just an ordinary sandwich flipped over, but at least the retro packaging was rad. Let us also not forget the colored sandwiches Burger King has also released, such as the green Nightmare King and the black Halloween Whopper.
At this point, we’re just left to wonder just what those kooky sandwich designers at Burger King are going to conjure up next.
