If you’ve ever wanted to have a professional photo taken of you with the real Uber Jason from Jason X, you’ll now finally have the chance. This week, Monster-Mania Convention announced Kane Hodder will be present at Monster-Mania Con 45 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Better yet, for the first time ever, Hodder will be offering in-costume photo-ops as Uber Jason. Needless to say, this is an awesome opportunity for big fans of the sci-fi Friday the 13th sequel.
Of course, Hodder is no stranger to doing photo-ops in character as Jason Voorhees. He has donned some alternate Jason looks for these photos so far, including the wet Jason Takes Manhattan look and the purple-colored “Retro Jason” based on the original Friday the 13th Nintendo game. However, as noted above, this will be the very first time he’s ever done this as Uber Jason. There’s nothing quite like the monstrous appearance of the Jason X version of the character, and for some fans, it’s his most badass look of all.
Jason X is one of the more controversial installments of the Friday the 13th franchise. After going to Hell in the previous movie, the franchise sent Jason Voorhees into space to kill some time (and some people) until Freddy vs. Jason could go into production. The result is a Jason movie far unlike any of the other entries in the film series, but in its own way, the film is very fun and highly entertaining.
Monster-Mania Con 45 takes place during the Friday the 13th weekend in March – that’s March 13th through Sunday the 15th – in Cherry Hill, NJ. Note that Hodder will only be doing the Uber Jason photo-ops on Saturday the 14th, though he’ll be at the con all three days.
