Ash vs. Evil Dead ended its run on Starz in 2018, but stars Dana DeLorenzo and Ray Santiago haven’t given up hope on seeing a series revival. Though the series was a big hit with fans and critics alike, there just weren’t enough people watching live at the time for Starz to continue the show past Season 3. When they episodes later began streaming on Netflix, the series then found an entirely new audience, making it more popular than ever after it had already aired its series finale.
Now, reuniting for an Ash vs. Evil Dead panel for Mainframe Comic Con 2.0, DeLorenzo and Santiago spoke about the potentiality of Ash vs. Evil Dead Season 4 happening for real. Looking at the state of the industry at the moment, DeLorenzo had this to say about Ash vs. Evil Dead coming back with more new episodes one day:
Well, I say never say never, because the way things are going, I’ve been reading all of these very terrifying things about our industry with productions, and things are just being shelved and whatnot. So I honestly feel like, never say never. There have been shows where they get cancelled, but then they get picked up by another network. I know Bruce has said he’s in retirement, but I feel like Ray and I could convince him.
Echoing DeLorenzo’s sentiments, Santiago suggests Campbell just needed a break by following up with this:
He just needs one or two years of just chilling in the woods, and not having the boomstick in his hand. And then he starts to crave it, and it’ll come back.
Time have been tough lately, and horror fans need Ash Williams now more than ever. Let’s hope the groovy one will get a change of heart and give us one last run with the boomstick and chainsaw. You can check out the full interview with DeLorenzo and Santiago below.
