Magnet Releasing

It was confirmed today that the found footage anthology franchise V/H/S will be getting the reboot treatment. The re-imagining, titled V/H/S 94, is being written, developed, and produced by David Bruckner, who directed a segment in the first V/H/S film as well. In recent years, Bruckner directed The Night House, Netflix’s The Ritual, and two segments from Shudder’s Creepshow, including the acclaimed “The Man in the Suitcase.” He is also set to direct the upcoming reboot of Hellraiser.

Directors Simon Barrett (You’re Next, The Guest), Timo Tjahjanto (Netflix’s The Night Comes For Us), and Chloe Okuno have signed on to V/H/S 94, with more filmmakers to be announced. The Hollywood Reporter confirms the anthology film will be “the first in the horror series to be presented in a single, fluid narrative, with each section linked up.”

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, and Chad Villella will produce under their Radio Silence moniker. The filmmaking trio, who directed and produced last year’s Ready or Not, are also behind Spyglass Media Group’s fifth Scream sequel. Co-creator of the V/H/S franchise, Brad Miska (Bloody Disgusting), will also produce alongside Josh Goldbloom and Parinda Patel of Cinepocalypse Productions, in partnership with Studio71.

The film spawned two sequels (V/H/S/2, V/H/S: Viral), a spin-off (Siren), and a series on the Snap Originals platform, owned by Snapchat.
