Horror legend Tony Todd stars in the new film Immortal, which asks the question of what you would do if you found out that you cannot die with a series of self-contained short stories. Directed by Jon Dabach, Tom Colley, Danny Isaacs, and Rob Margolies, the film also stars Dylan Baker (Hunters), Robin Bartlett (Shutter Island), Samm Levine (Inglourious Basterds), Vanessa Lengies (WaitingâĤ), and Agnes Bruckner (The Woods). Dabach also wrote the script.
Todd’s role seems to deal with the difficult subject of assisted suicide, as the Candyman star plays a grieving husband hoping to help his wife end her pain. We can capture a look at Todd’s portrayal of this role in the trailer, and the role is very much unlike some of the more dastardly characters we’ve seen Todd portray. Showing some heartbreaking emotion, the brief moments we see Todd in the trailer alone is enough to tug at your heartstrings a bit. Combined with the other stories, the film looks to be rather intriguing.
Synopsis:Â Thrown into the face of death only to emerge unharmed, the characters of Immortal are left staring at eternity in the face with uncertainty and fear like they’ve never imagined. The film follows Chelsea, a high school track star who comes clean about sexual misconduct with her coach only to find out her confession might be too late, Gary and Vanessa, a young, expecting married couple who scheme a morbid solution to their financial issues, Ted, a man filled with sorrow who agrees to euthanize his cancer-ridden wife Mary, and Warren, a young man with little direction in life who is forced to discover his new gifts after a tragic accident.
Immortal is available via On Demand on Sept. 1, courtesy of Stonecutter Distribution. You can check out the official trailer below.
