We’re now just days away from Batman: The Animated Series dropping on HBO Max, following months of fans begging for WarnerMedia to make the beloved cartoon show available on the streaming service. With WarnerMedia recently releasing a full list of titles heading to the streamer in January, it’s been revealed that Batman: TAS will start streaming on Jan. 1, marking a fantastic way to start the new year for fans who’ve been patiently waiting for the show to arrive.
Meanwhile, Batman Beyond, a sequel series set decades after TAS, will also start streaming on HBO Max on Jan. 1. For those unfamiliar with the show, it features teenager Terry McGinnis assuming the role of the new Batman in a futuristic Gotham City after Bruce Wayne retires from fighting crime. Despite the change in the protagonist and the new setting, Batman Beyond manages to capture that same feeling of TAS, particularly because of its art style and the return of Kevin Conroy as the voice of Bruce Wayne.
For more Dark Knight content, Jan. 1 will also be bringing in Batman Beyond and its two sequels, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises; Batman: Bad Blood; Batman: Death in the Family; Batman: Hush; and the Batman Beyond animated movie spinoff, Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker. Other DC titles include Green Lantern, Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, Superman: Doomsday, Superman: Man of Tomorrow, and Superman Returns.
A third season of Harley Quinn is also in the works at HBO Max. After streaming two seasons on DC Universe, the popular show has moved to HBO Max where it found a much bigger audience. The streamer has since confirmed that the series has been renewed for a third season that will stream exclusively on HBO Max.
