Today, Geoff Keighley’s brainchild, Summer Game Fest, was shown live, unofficially kicking off the E3 festivities. The show packed a TON of games into it’s 90-minute showcase, but if you missed it, no problem! Here’s our recap.
Gearbox Software and 2K Games announced the standalone Borderlands spin-off video game Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. As you can see in the trailer, the title has the franchise elements we’re familiar with, and is an evolution for the Looter-Shooter genre.
In a virtual sit down with legendary creator Hideo Kojima, Death Stranding: Directors Cut was unveiled with more information coming later this year. The trailer featured Sam sneaking around a facility eventually finding a box and trying to hide in it. A hint, perhaps?
Jeff Goldblum showed up doing what Jeff Goldblum does best, being Jeff Goldblum. During his Jeff Goldblum-ing, he showed off the world premiere of a trailer for Jurassic World: Evolution 2 and it’s coming later this year. Check out the trailer below for that sweet sweet Goldblum narration. Oh, yeah, and take a look at a pretty fun-looking game.
Japanese Breakfast performed her song “Glider” from the video game Sable, which is coming out September 23rd. The game will be featured at Tribeca Film Festival.

The Season 4 update was announced and shown off for Call of Duty: Warzone. They teased new weapons, maps, operators, and more, as well as additional expanded zombies content. The free content will drop for players on June 17th. At the end, the next major installation of the Call of Duty franchise from Sledgehammer Games was teased, with more info coming soon.
Among Us is getting a bunch of added content, including a new “Hide and Seek” game mode, two new roles – sheriff and scientist, new cosmetics, a mysterious new map, and an achievement system. The Geoff Keighley mask is also back for a limited time.
Shuhei Yoshida joined the stream to talk about the state of PlayStation Indie titles. Chicory: A Colorful Tale from Finji is out now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Mac. Chicory features a coloring book-style world where you use your painting skills to explore, solve puzzles, and make new friends.
Salt and Sacrifice, an immersive 2D side-scroller adventure, is coming from Ska Studios. A follow up to 2016’s Salt and Sanctuary, the sequel offers a Souls-like co-op action experience that is coming to PS4, PS5, and PC in 2022.
Finally, Annapurna and Heart Machine’s new game, Solar Ash, was showcased and will be coming later this year to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
It was also confirmed that Escape From Tarkov will be getting new content.
The newest game in the Two Point series, Two Point: Campus, will have players construct and oversee a university campus. Coming 2022 to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch.
The first clip from The Cuphead Show will be unveiled tomorrow during Netflix’s Geeked Week. We will also get updates on The Witcher TV show as well as the live-action Resident Evil series. This streams live tomorrow at 12 PM EST.
SMITE is crossing over into the Upside Down with a Stranger Things event kicking off July 13th. There will be Eleven, Hopper, and Mind Flayer skins.
Prime Matter, a new publisher, was announced. They are bringing 12 new games, including PayDay 3 and a new game in the Painkiller franchise. More details will be announced tomorrow during Prime Matter’s showcase at 3PM EST at summergamefest.com.
Anacrusis is a 4-player co-op Left4Dead-style shooter set in space from Stray Bombay. Set in the far future, Anacrusis tells the story of four individuals that must team up to stave off the oncoming alien invasion. The game will be presented as an episodic adventure, as each release will uncover more and more of the story. It’ll be coming to Xbox, PC, and GamePass on day one.
A new game, New World, was shown off. There will be a Beta starting on July 20th, with the public launch happening on August 31st . A deep dive on the game will be shown tomorrow at 11 AM EST.
The Rocket League x Fast and Furious collaboration is coming back. It’s bringing back the Nissan Skyline, as well as a Dodge Charger and a brand new Pontiac Fiero. The 3-Car bundle goes on sale on June 17th for 2400 credits and includes the 3 cars, and 17 decals.
Bloodhunt, a new battle royale game in the Vampire Masquerade Universe from Sharkmob was premiered. The game offers you the chance at becoming the ultimate vampire. Refine your look and use supernatural powers to reign supreme. Registration is now open for the closed alpha PC test on the game’s website at bloodhunt.com.
House of Ashes, the newest installment in Supermassive Games’ Dark Pictures Anthology, was announced. The game is centered around a group of American and Iraqi soldiers stranded in a cursed temple. The game will come to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC on October 22nd, 2021, and will have a Collector’s Edition. Players who pre-order will have early access to the Curator Cut. This includes previously unavailable scenes playable with different characters, choices, and outcomes.
Tales of Arise is coming on September 10th, 2021. A new trailer was shown and more info will be coming in the coming weeks.
Sky: Children of the Light hits consoles on June 29th and will be receiving the “Little Prince” season update on July 6th.
Thunderful Publishing and Wishfully Studios debuted Planet of Lana, a cinematic puzzle adventure featuring hand-painted visuals. An off-earth odyssey, the game will be launching exclusively on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC via Steam, and the Windows 10 Store in late 2022.
Aaron Keller from the Overwatch team stopped by to show off two new character designs that will be used in their upcoming Overwatch 2 game. The redesigned characters are Baptiste and Sombra.
We got a celebrity-filled gameplay look at the upcoming Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance game, coming to Xbox Gamepass on June 22nd.
The free-to-play battle royale, Paladins, is getting a Gen:Lock crossover event.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin got a story trailer premiere, as well as details on the Deluxe Edition, pre-order bonuses, and Amiibos. The game launches on the Nintendo Switch on July 9th, 2021.
Weezer performed their new song “Tell Me What You Want,” which will release tomorrow alongside a new level in the indie-game Wave Break called “Weezy Mode.” The song is also a stream-safe option that streamers can use and not get hit with a copyright strike.
Endless Dungeon, a tactical rogue-like action game set in Amplitude’s Endless universe was shown. An exclusive skin is available by registering through their website.
Insomniac will be hosting a special Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart livestream on Twitch today, June 10th, at 5 PM EST. The first hour of the game will be streamed and they will be answering questions and sharing behind the scenes info. It’s all going down at Twitch.tv/InsomniacGames.
Giancarlo Esposito stopped by the stream to talk about his role as Anton Castillo in the upcoming Far Cry 6 game, from Ubisoft.
Fall Guys will be getting a new skin based on 2B from the legendary game franchise, Nier. The skin will be available in the shop on June 18th.
A brand new studio was announced, Deviation Games. The two studio heads were on the stream to talk about what’s coming. They promise ground-breaking innovation and surprises. While no games were ready for discussion, it was announced that Deviation Games had partnered with Sony to bring their games to PlayStation consoles.
In honor of the 30th Anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog, the Philharmonic Orchestra performed music from Sonic Unleashed during the Summer Game Fest stream. The full performance will be available on June 23rd, at 3 PM EST.
More Back4Blood content will be shown off on Sunday at Xbox’s E3 presentation, giving us a look at a boss and more. Also announced was a Beta, coming on August 5th. You will need to pre-order the game to get early access.
Steam Next Fest is kicking off next Wednesday, June 16th, giving gamers the chance to try out hundreds of game demos, sit in on dev livestreams, and connect with dev teams and talk about their games.
Xbox’s ID @ Xbox is returning this year as well, kicking off next Tuesday, June 15th, and running until June 21st. Over 40 demos will be available to try out on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, including Tunic and Sable.
Tribes of Midgard, an ancient Norse-inspired survival game from Gearbox and Norsfel, was showcased. The co-op action survival RPG will come to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC on July 27th. In Tribes of Midgard, team up with your friends to defend your village, and get ready for Ragnarok. The game combines elements inspired from Diablo and Don’t Starve to bring players a fun viking-themed romp that can be played solo, or with up to 10 friends.
An extended gameplay look at the upcoming Evil Dead video game was revealed with voiceover from the King of Groovy himself, Bruce Campbell. In the game, you can team up with friends and save the world from demons, or if you’re what Bruce Campbell referred to as “a dick,” you can play as the demons and wreak havoc. As the humans you must collect the pages of the Necronomicon in order to send the demons back to where they came from. Launching later this year on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC.
The grand finale announcement to wrap up the show was a long-awaited look at Elden Ring. The collaborative effort from Souls series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki and Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin got an awesome first trailer along with a release date and an updated console list. Elden Ring will come to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on January 21, 2022.
While wrapping up the show, host Geoff Keighley announced that as of now, The Game Awards are set to make a return with an in-person event late this year in LA. More details to come.
