It’s finally here: our first look at The Munsters in Rob Zombie’s reboot. There have long been rumors of certain cast members involved, but new images of three of them in character are what we’d call an official confirmation.
The cast members are Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, and Dan Roebuck as Grandpa Munster. You can check out the reveal below straight from Zombie’s Instagram account.

Most horror fans are aware that Zombie is taking on the classic sitcom with his next film. While that has spawned a variety of opinions, it can’t be denied that Zombie is going to great lengths to make his film a faithful homage to the sitcom. This includes having the entire neighborhood built from scratch for total authenticity. It took using his love for the show (along with some actual blueprints), but what he’s built looks pretty amazing.
Richard Brake, Jorge Garcia, Sylvester McCoy, and Cassandra Peterson (also known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark) are three other names that have been rumored for the cast, but it’s unclear who they might be playing. Because Phillips, Sheri Moon, and Roebuck were previously rumored, it stands to reason that these other names are probably involved as well.

Filming is likely to commence soon with everyone in character, if it hasn’t already, which means we should be getting more reveals before long.
There still isn’t a release window announced for The Munsters, but with production ramping up, it’s likely to arrive sometime in 2022. Word is it will be released both in theaters and on the streaming service Peacock. For now, you can watch classic episodes of The Munsters series on Peacock as well.
