During Disney+ Day today, it was revealed that Prey, a prequel to the Predator films, will be available to stream on Hulu in Summer 2022. The film will show the Predator’s arrival on Earth. Initially going under the title Skulls, the film is directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) and has a screenplay by Patrick Aison (TV’s Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan).
Synopsis: Set in the world of the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, the action-thriller follows Naru, the skilled warrior who fiercely protects her tribe against a highly evolved alien predator.
Amber Midthunder (TV’s Roswell, New Mexico, TV’s Legion) has been cast as the Indigenous Naru. She strives to “prove her worth as a warrior” and “certainly gets her chance when she comes face to face with the most dangerous hunter of all, the other-worldly predator.”
Prey is a 20th Century Studios production starring Dakota Beavers, Dane DiLiegro, and Stefany Mathias.

The Predator series kicked off in 1987 with Predator, directed by John McTiernan and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers. The film was a box office hit, bringing in $98.3 million on an estimated $18 million budget. The film’s sequel, Predator 2, directed by Stephen Hopkins, was released in 1990. Nimród Antal’s Predators was released in 2010, followed by Shane Black’s The Predator in 2018.
The Alien vs. Predator crossover series has spawned two films — Paul W. S. Anderson’s Alien vs. Predator in 2004, and The Brothers Strause’s Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem in 2007.
