Epix's FROM Season 1 Epsiode 7 All Good Things

In last week’s episode, From ramped things back up, expanding some interesting storylines and bringing in new ones. In “All Good Things,” we continue down this dark and curious path, pausing to watch a celebration become a nightmare and proving how this town is always just one unwise decision away from complete and utter disaster.

Father Khatri (Shaun Majumder), who stumbled upon something that could help the people escape this town last week, was also forced to face his buried demons literally and figuratively. He takes his idea and trouble to Sheriff Boyd (Harold Perrineau), explaining his troubled past of not helping someone when he could, and now with Sara (Avery Konrad), finding a way to help her, the whole town, and maybe himself. Boyd was more than a little shocked about his revelation and skeptical about the plan he laid out, but in the insane world they are currently living in, it might be crazy enough to work.

Jade (David Alpay) struggles with visions he has seen, obsessing over certain symbols and reading the same thing repeatedly, trying to find meaning. Kenny (Ricky He) and his mother try to keep him grounded with mixed results. However, an old picture turns into an interesting clue, thanks to Kenny’s mom’s keen eye, and once again, it looks like another tumble down the rabbit hole is about to begin.

As different parts of the town seem close to imploding or flying apart at the seams, the homes of Jim (Eion Bailey) and Tabitha (Catalina Sandino Moreno) are quite the opposite. Indeed, for a couple looking at a divorce square between the eyes, the chaos they live in seems to help them bridge that gap. Nothing says “I love you” more than digging a deep pit in your basement looking for the source of strange cords. It’s a weird situation, but in this setting, it’s believable.

Speaking of imploding over a Colony House, the celebration to mark the first anniversary of Fatima’s arrival goes wrong, thanks to yet another person in town being tricked into letting the monsters in. But this is different, as there are many more in this house, which invites even more monsters to surround the house. This leads to a shocking tragedy that will mentally tear through the town.

This week, there is great tension and dread in “All Good Things.” While they continue to build on the mysteries, some will soon need to be unveiled. Victor is a pivotal piece to the puzzle, being here the longest and having obvious knowledge of things he has yet to share or can fully understand yet to share. There are ideas out there for solutions, last gasps almost, making the perilous state of the town that much more real.

With only three episodes left in season one, there is still a lot of ground to cover, and it will be curious to see if the show tries to tie everything up or leaves things hanging out there for the viewers to chew on themselves.
