After decades of waiting, it seems as though a high-quality Hellraiser film is finally being released. Announced last year by Hulu, a new full-length Hellraiser trailer has been released. It shows newcomer Jamie Clayton as the new Pinhead, the creepy new Cenobite designs, and the classic Puzzle Box from the original story.
The new Hellraiser is directed by David Bruckner (The Ritual, The Night House) and written by Ben Collins (The Night House), Luke Piotrowski (The Night House), and David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Trilogy). For the first time in more than 20 years, original story writer Clive Barker is attached as a producer of the film.
Along with Clayton, Hellraiser will star Goran Visnjic (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Hiam Abbass (Blade Runner 2049), Odessa A’zion (Let’s Scare Julie), Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why), and Drew Starkey (Love, Simon).

From the trailer, the new film seems to grasp the grim and creepy nature of both the original story and the 1987 film directed by Clive Barker. The makeup and practical effects already look miles ahead of several of the Hellraiser sequels released in the 2000s and 2010s.
