Adrienne King Is ‘So Excited’ to Return to Camp Crystal Lake

Paramount Pictures

The Friday the 13th franchise is officially getting revived with a new television series in the works at Peacock. Called Crystal Lake, the series has been described as an “expanded prequel,” as written by Hannibal creator Bryan Fuller. Victor Miller, who penned the original Friday the 13th film, is also on board as an executive producer alongside Fuller, while the latter will serve as series showrunner.

While there’s still a lot about the show that’s unknown, it has since been revealed that Adrienne King has been cast in a mystery role. King previously played Alice Hardy, the final girl in the first film who tussled with the original killer of the series, Pamela Voorhees (Betsy Palmer). There hasn’t been any word yet on who King will be playing in Crystal Lake, and while she cannot yet divulge that information herself, she has expressed just how excited she is to return to Camp Crystal Lake.

Posting to Facebook an image of herself out on the lake in a canoe, King says, “I’m so excited to be going back to CRYSTAL LAKE! There’s so much I wish I could share with you regarding the new series, but you’ll just have to be patient. So worth the wait!”

It remains to be seen who King will be playing in the show, so that leaves the door open for fan speculation. Could it be that King will be playing Mrs. Voorhees, the character she slayed in the original film as Alice Hardy? In any case, Friday the 13th fans are already looking forward to seeing King’s return to the franchise, a sign of more good things to come for the series for fans.

Crystal Lake with Adrienne King doesn’t yet have a premiere date set at Peacock.
