Although he is best known as Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street, Robert Englund has over 160 acting credits to his name since beginning his career in 1974. The new documentary Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story delves into Englund’s illustrious career and some of his most memorable characters.
Variety has confirmed that the documentary will be released in theaters this year after Cinedigm acquired the North American rights. Following its theatrical run, the film will be released on the Screambox streaming service in time for Englund’s 75th birthday on June 6th.
Directors Chris Griffiths and Gary Smart and co-writer Neil Morris have previously worked on Pennywise: The Story of It and You’re So Cool, Brewster! The Story of Fright Night. The crew talks with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Eli Roth, Lance Henriksen, Heather Langenkamp, Tony Todd, Lin Shaye, Kane Hodder, Adam Green, Bill Moseley, Mick Garris, Corey Taylor, and Nathan Baesel.
