Kena: Bridge of Spirits
Ember Lab

Originally released as a PlayStation console exclusive, Ember Lab’s Kena: Bridge of Spirits is bridging the console gap as it heads to Xbox consoles later this year. Initially released in September of 2021, Bridge of Spirits was well-liked by critics and gamers alike and has been praised for its inspired art direction and beautiful score.

In Kena: Bridge of Spirits, players take up the mantle of the titular character, Kena, a spirit guide tasked with aiding the dead as they move from the living realm into the spirit world. On her journey, Kena faces deadly and corrupted enemies, but she’s not alone as she is joined by allies and, of course, the cute and cuddly Rots.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits will come to Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One consoles on August 15th, 2024, with a plethora of bonus goodies, including Xbox-exclusive pirate-themed Rot hats, a Golden Rot skin, and a unique staff for Kena. A physical copy will also be available. It comes packaged with the official digital soundtrack, a retail-exclusive sticker sheet, and all the Xbox-exclusive digital content.

We had a chance to play and review Kena when it came out three years ago on the PlayStation 4. We shared that the game’s writing is “charming and authentic, complementing the voice acting.” We also expressed that “Kena: Bridge of Spirits is an astounding debut for Ember Lab. A studio’s first game is rarely such a masterpiece.” You can read the full review here.
