Season 1 of the TV show Wednesday was a huge success for everyone, with Netflix enjoying some of the highest viewership for a show it has ever seen. So it came as no surprise that there would be another season, and it’s here, with part one of Season 2 already streaming and part two ready to air in early September. It seems the fans can’t get enough of Wednesday and her classmates at Nevermore Academy, a school for so-called “outcasts” who suffer from the same issues most do while growing up, with a few twists along the way.
To celebrate the show’s success, Fan Expo Canada brought three cast members to Toronto to participate in a panel. They discussed their characters, what they’ve experienced as actors, and what to look out for as Season 2 continues. Joy Sunday (Bianca), Georgie Farmer (Ajax), and Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley) joined a very excited and appreciative crowd, who cheered, laughed, and applauded, hanging on the cast members’ every word.

On getting to work with the master of macabre himself, Tim Burton, the cast were nothing but complimentary about the process, although admittedly a bit nervous. “It was a dream come true,” stated Sunday, but noted, “You’d think that walking into a room with him, you’d be nervous, but he makes you feel so welcome and is open to all you can bring to a character. He really instilled a lot of confidence in all of us.
Ordonez agreed, adding, “I remember when I was about to meet him, so nervous, but me and my mom were super comfortable with him. He’s very good at relying on what he wants; if you’re not getting it, he’ll go in and show you.”

When asked if there was somebody else’s powers from the show they could have, what would it be, Farmer stated, “For me, it changes on a daily basis. On some days it’s like oh, I really want to be able to Siren someone, others I want to turn into a werewolf.” Sunday had a simple ask, stating, “I’d really like to be able to fly, but that hasn’t happened yet.” Farmer also explained, “I’d also like to be a vampire, simply for the clothes they wear. When you see them in a group on the show, it’s like a fashion show.”
Asked if he thought Pugsley and Wednesday had a normal sibling relationship, Farmer laughed, saying, “Yes, I think Wednesday loves him and protects him like in that normal sibling dynamic, but she also sees him as a tool. And there’s the torture. But other than that, pretty normal.”
Wednesday Season 2 premiered on Netflix on August 6 and will conclude on September 3.
