Holy balls, it’s the reveal we’ve all been waiting for! There’s probably no announcement or trailer that this writer has been looking forward to more at SDCC 17, than the Preacher TV series panel. And they haven’t let us down, with an all new video package revealing the comics ultimate big bad has arrived, Herr Starr is here!
After a shaky first season, that some loved and some just couldn’t get on board with, Preacher returned with its all action, all impact second season a few weeks ago and has certainly revived interest from the flock members it lost initially. By inserting characters like unstoppable phantom gun slinger The Saint of Killers, it has become the must see television we had all expected from day one.
But now things are going to get a whole lot darker and sadistic with the long-awaited insertion of Herr Starr. For those unfamiliar with the character, Herr Starr is the Sacred Executioner for The Grail, the organisation intent on getting their hands on Jesse Custer’s recently acquired vocal talents. He’s ugly, he’s nasty and – if the showrunners have the balls – will end up with a penis for a head (read the comics!).
The trailer also sees the welcome return of Arseface, who’s having all kinds of fun in Hell, hanging out with Hitler.
