Actor John Heard has passed away in Palo Alto, CA at the age of 72. Mr. Heard was recovering at a hotel after back surgery at the time of his death.

With over 170 roles to his name, some of the most well known film roles include Kevin’s dad, Peter McCallister, in Home Alone (1990) and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992). In 1988, he also had starring roles in Beaches, Big, and The Seventh Sign. Other roles within the horror genre include C.H.U.D. (1984), Cat People (1982), and Sharknado (2013).

Mr. Heard has made many appearances on television shows. Some of his more major roles were Vin Makazian in The Sopranos (1999-2004), Kenwall Duquesne in CSI: Miami (2003-05), Dennis Morgenthal in Jack & Bobby (2004-05), and Governor Frank Tancredi in Prison Break: Resurrection (2005-06). He was nominated for an Emmy Award in 1999 for his role on The Sopranos. Mr. Heard has six films pending release, including Living Among Us, Last Rampage, The Tale, Broome Street Boys, Imprisoned and the short film Graffiti.
