Girl on the Third Floor is now streaming on Netflix. Starring former WWE Champion Phil “CM Punk” Brooks in one of his first movie roles, the film also stars Trieste Kelly Dunn, Sarah Brooks, and Tonya Kay. Travis Stevens directs the film using a screenplay co-written by Stevens, Paul Johnstone, and Ben Parker. After pulling in positive reviews in the film festival circuit, with stops including SXSW and Nightmares Film Festival, the film is now much more widely available with Netflix adding the film to its streaming service.

I caught Girl on the Third Floor when it screened at last year’s Nightmares Film Festival, and I found it to be very enjoyable. Its simple story follows Brooks as an ex-lawyer who moves into a run-down home, hoping to transform it into the perfect house for his pregnant wife and unborn child. However, it becomes apparent very quickly that something is seriously wrong with this house, but that could still be the least of the man’s problems when he meets a seductive young woman who introduces herself as his new neighbor.

In my review of the film, I called Girl on the Third Floor “dark, yet fun, and all around entertaining” because of its grotesquely bizarre visuals and moments of dark humor. The FX also look great and Punk does a pretty good job here with his transition into film acting from the world of professional wrestling. It’s definitely worth a watch and fans of Punk in particular will want to add this one to the watch list.
