Texas Frightmare Weekend 2024 Announces Doug Jones

In celebration of the all-new release of Crimson Peak, Texas Frightmare Weekend has announced that Presenting Sponsor Arrow Video is bringing actor Doug Jones to the convention this May 17-19. Crimson Peak hits store shelves this May 21st, but convention attendees will have the chance to purchase their copies during the convention at the Arrow Video booth #137.

Doug Jones is perhaps one of the most brilliant actors of our time. Some say he is this generation’s Boris Karloff. Jones’ illustrious career spans 30+ years in television and on film! Currently, he can be seen as Captain Saru on the CBS series Star Trek Discovery. Fans will long remember Doug for his work as Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer. He’s also breathed the life and soul into Abe Sapien in Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army.

In the Oscar-winning film he wants to be remembered for, Jones portrays two characters: Pan and The Pale Man in Pan’s Labyrinth. Little trivia fact: He learned all his lines for the film in Spanish while comparing them to a special script prepared for him in English.

Another fan favorite is the Halloween cult classic, Hocus Pocus, in which Jones plays a goofy zombie (ex-boyfriend of Bette Midler’s character), Billy Butcherson, a role he reprised in Hocus Pocus II. His earliest comic book movie appearance was alongside Danny DeVito as a circus clown henchman in Batman Returns. Jones teamed up again with director Guillermo del Toro to bring an original story to life in the Oscar-winning film The Shape of Water.

Jones seamlessly transitions from film to TV. He can be seen in What We Do in the Shadows, Falling Skies, Teen Wolf, Fear Itself, The Neighbors, and as the lead Gentleman on the Emmy-nominated “Hush” episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Tickets and information are available now at TexasFrightmareWeekend.com. You can pre-order Arrow’s all-new 4k release of Crimson Peak now or purchase your copy at the convention.
