Kenny Baker, the 3ft 8 in actor known for his role in Star Wars as the lovable R2-D2 has passed away. Along with this iconic role, Kenny Baker was also featured in Flash Gordon (1980), The Elephant Man (1980), Time Bandits (1981), Labyrinth (1986), and much more. Due to his size, he was almost always cast in roles such as dwarf or elf. Baker was invited to the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), but was reportedly too ill to travel to the premiere from the UK.
According to IMDb, Baker was associated with a horror project titled When the Devil Rides Out, but no release information has been given.
