Months ahead of launch, it has been officially confirmed that IllFonic’s Halloween game will include Laurie Strode and her pals from the original movie as playable characters.
IllFonic has formally announced that Halloween: The Game will feature Laurie Strode, Lynda van der Klok, Annie Brackett, and Bob Simms. New images of each of these characters as they will appear in the game have also been unveiled. These characters will all be available right away for players to use in multiplayer mode at launch, but the devs have also teased that additional, “very familiar” cosmetics can be unlocked for them in single player mode. Might we see an alternate skin for Bob wearing a “ghost” costume?

IllFonic says about their inclusion, “In addition to interactive appearances inspired by iconic scenes from the original film in the game’s singleplayer story mode, these legacy characters will also serve as playable Civilians in multiplayer, allowing players to shape their own experiences and roleplay as their favorite beer-drinking lovebirds and dedicated babysitters.”
Notably, the characters do not have the likenesses of the actors who portrayed them in John Carpenter’s Halloween. Still, the reimagined designs were created in collaboration with Malek Akkad and Compass International Pictures. The overall goal is still for the game to be very faithful to the iconic horror movie while still offering something fresh to players.
“We aren’t just adapting a widely adored movie; we’re building an entire world around it,” Art Director Cole Gray clarified in a statement. “To do justice to this classic, everything and everyone within it had to feel like they belonged together. Reimagining these characters from the ground up allowed us to seamlessly weave them into a fresh, cohesive landscape that respects the era while presenting new ideas and honoring the film’s roots.”
Voice actors for these reimagined versions include Chelsea Krause as Laurie Strode, Kaitlyn Robrock as Annie Brackett, Angela Carbone as Lynda van der Klok, and Nicholas Leung as Bob Simms.

It was previously confirmed that Dr. Loomis will also be in the game as a second-chance character, meaning a player may be able to return to gameplay as him if they have been killed by Michael. Additionally, there are many other original characters created specifically for the game. Recently, another two playable Civilian characters were announced, Richard Hawthorne (voiced by Ice Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas) and Alexis Purcell (Kristina Klebe of Rob Zombie’s Halloween), which will be included with the Digital Deluxe Edition of Halloween: The Game.
Halloween: The Game launches on Sept. 8, 2026, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store).
