Great news for indie game developers! Pioneering entertainment and media company Rooster Teeth announced the launch of Rooster Teeth Games, a new video game publishing division focused on bridging the gap between independent game developers and the worldwide community of gamers.
Rooster Teeth Games recently developed and published mega hit RWBY: Grimm Eclipse. The game, based on Rooster Teeth’s global hit anime series RWBY, was a best-seller during its initial release on Steam in Summer 2016 and then debuted on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in January 2017 and is currently a top-10 selling game on both platforms.
It was also announced that Rooster Teeth Games will be publishing Battlesloths 2025: The Great Pizza War, developed by Invisible Collective.
Battlesloths is an indie game that I’ve been excited for over the last six months. It’s a local multiplayer, twin-stick shooter that features hoverboard riding, gun-toting sloths who love pizza and silly hats.
I’ve watched the developers create these hats on Twitch on Wednesday nights and interviewed the guys behind the game, which you can read HERE.
Battlesloths 2025 allows up to four players to compete against AI sloths using myriad weaponry, each with their own strategies, to destroy enemies in a quest to collect the most pizza. The game features 20 unique weapons, 4 game modes, customizable battle settings, team vs. options, free for all, a nuke and more hats than you can fit on 700 sloth’s heads.
Randy Greenback, Executive Producer for Invisible Collective said, “It’s easy to see that Rooster Teeth embodies the spirit of the game in all they do. Their approach to entertainment, paired with their awareness of the current market, makes them the ideal publisher for Battlesloths.”
