It may have been a sad day for fans of the Hellboy series, but all is not lost in the wonderful world of Geekdom, as we’ve been treated to the first shot from the upcoming Han Solo Star Wars spin-off movie.

The image, which was unleashed just hours ago on Disney’s official Star Wars Twitter account, shows Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar) as young Han Solo squashed in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon with fellow cast members Woody Harrelson (The Hunger Games series), Phoebe Waller-Bridge (The Iron Lady), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Donald Glover (The Martian), and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca. Directors Chris Miller (21 Jump Street) and Phil Lord (The Lego Movie) also appear, the lucky bastards.
According to the official Star Wars website, the apparent origin movie, which remains untitled at press time, will delve into Han and Chewie’s adventures before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV . Although plot details remain scant, we can surmise that the inclusion of Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian should mean we’re in for some awesome smuggling action. An extended appearance by Jabba the Hutt wouldn’t go amiss either!
The film’s directorial duo has gone on record as saying: “Watching such inspired people from all over the world, with such unique voices, come together for the sole purpose of making art, is nothing short of miraculous. We can’t think of anything funny to say, because we just feel really moved, and really lucky.”
The movie lands in cinemas May 25th, 2018. Don’t forget to check back here for updates as they become available.
