We are but a few hours away from the long anticipated return of The Walking Dead on AMC, but before that happens, our furry friends over at Sesame Street have released their very own parody of the show, titled ‘The Walking Gingerbread‘.
With a name like that, it isn’t hard to guess who the star of the parody is. That’s right, mega popular Muppet, Cookie Monster, stars as a blue, hairy version of Sheriff Rick Grimes, a small town cop who is thrust into the role of Earth’s savior after an outbreak of cookie munching Crumbies plagues the Earth.
Sheriff Cookie is joined by two other puppets, who bare than a passing resemblance to Walking Dead favourites Daryl Dixon and Michonne. There’s even an appearance by The Governor, because even as a Muppet, Negan is just too hardcore.
The five minute short is just the latest in a long line of Sesame Street themed parodies, which have included The Avengers, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and Sons of Anarchy. When you’re through watching ‘The Walking Gingerbread‘ though, you’ll be wondering if this week’s episode has been brought to you by the letters W, T, F!.
