Castlevania

If like us and fell in love with Netflix’s Castlevania animated series last year, you’ll be relieved to hear that a further 8 episodes of the Belmont clan’s war with Dracula will land, like a bat out of Hell, on the streaming service this summer.

Castlevania

It has originally seemed like a no-brainer, considering how popular the twisted toon had been on its initial release, but when showrunner Adi Shankar purposely removed a post talking about season 2 from his official Facebook page, it looked like we – and he – had spoken too soon. This was further compounded when Netflix big-wigs started to cancel their own shows, suggesting a few of their originals might be in danger of the ax – or in this case a stake through the heart! Alas, we were mistaken though, as it was officially renewed via a statement by Netflix, and with additional episodes to boot.

There are currently no plot details available for Castlevania season 2, but we can confirm that as well as Shankar, writer Warren Ellis, and voice actors James Callis, Graham McTavish, Richard Armitage, and Alejandra Reynoso will all return to reprise their roles both on and off screen too.

We’ll have more details as they develop. But for now, why not check out our original review of the fang-tastic (sorry not sorry) season 1?
