What We Do in the Shadows

Are you sitting down? Because you’re going to want to be sitting down for this news! The long-rumored What We Do in the Shadows TV series is definitely a thing and will air on FX once the pilot is complete.

The original What We Do in the Shadows was released in 2014 and followed the day to lives of a small group of Vampires living in a house in New Zealand. Despite being a genre movie, it was widely regarded as the best comedy movie of the year and joined films like This is Spinal Tap and Best in Show as an instant mockumentary classic.

Jermaine Clement and Taika Waititi will be returning to the project as writers, with Waititi once again assuming the role of director. This time though, the project will be uprooted from Waititi’s native New Zealand to the USA and will star Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, and Harvey Guillen as the friendly neighborhood bloodsuckers.

Waititi, who is undoubtedly the hottest name in Hollywood at the moment following the success of Thor: Ragnarok, is also working on another spin-off of the movie called Wellington Paranormal, which will feature Karen and Mike, the two cops who were briefly featured in the film. Likewise, Clement has confirmed that he will be involved in a one-off special episode of Flight of the Conchords with partner Bret McKenzie. What a year to be alive, huh?
