When the new Westworld Season 2 trailer hit the web, fans such as myself dropped everything to watch it immediately. Needless to say, there’s a lot of excitement heading into the new series. I’ve watched the new trailer multiple times, but as it turns out, there’s another trailer available online!
As GameSpot reports, the trailer featured a hidden binary code within a single shot. Reddit user TheOracleOW decoded the code which revealed a hidden link on the Delos website. On this page, a video plays, giving fans another peek at what’s to come in Season 2.
This new trailer is much more disturbing than the first one, to say the least. It plays like a fictional advertisement for the Westworld park. However, freaky imagery is spliced in throughout the video, showcasing some of the more macabre Season 2 moments. It includes a man about to be hung, and newcomer Peter Mullan seemingly cutting up his own face.
The video obviously doesn’t tell us much about the plot of what’s going on, but it will capture your interest all the same. At the end, the word “XOMEGACH” is displayed on the screen. If you click “login” and type in that word, you’ll be taken to another hidden website. But all that’s to be found in here is a video giving fans the message, “Find Peter Abernathy.” To refresh your memory, that would be Dolores Abernathy’s father — what role will he play next season?
Season 2 of Westworld premieres on HBO on April 22nd. You can watch the original Season 2 trailer from HBO below. To watch the “secret” trailer, head on over to Delos Incorporated!
