For many years, fans have used the internet to speculate about what’s coming next in their favorite TV shows. HBO’s Westworld is tailor made for that purpose, with each episode only raising more questions than it answers. Since the start of the series, online fans have been running amok with all kinds of theories about the story. But some are certainly more insane than others.
Last Sunday, the Season 2 premiere of Westworld finally made its way to air, and along with it came more fan theories. MovieFone has uncovered one particular idea which touches on a prior theory which first came up in Season 1. When William (Ed Harris) wakes up in the aftermath of the massacre of the board of directors, he sees a rather familiar wolf, similar to one shown in the first season.
Those watching HBO’s other shows may feel the wolf has a strong resemblance to the direwolfs from Game of Thrones. In fact, some are going so far as to say the Westworld wolf and Arya Stark’s direwolf Nymeria are actually one in the same animal. Hopefully those tweeting about the theory are only doing so in jest, but in any case, it’s making a lot of noise.

An additional development in the Season 2 premiere adds further credence to the theory. When the body of a host tiger is found rotting on the beach, it’s mentioned that it traveled over from another unnamed park. That could explain what Nymeria is doing in Westworld. What if Westeros is one of the other parks in the Westworld universe? Like the tiger, did Nymeria get lost and somehow wind up in the wrong park?
Of course, while this is fun to talk about, there’s absolutely no way this theory is true. It’s rather interesting though – sometimes I admire the creativity of the internet. To see what really happens, watch Westworld Sunday nights at 9 p.m. on HBO!
